Freeriders:

Bring your ski even if you are not going to compete. There will be a freeride clinic on Friday August 17th. This clinic is free and will be similar to the Blowsion "Fistful of Foam" video. You will have the opportunity to hear from some of the top riders. Tips on how to do everything from boat prep and set up, to some of the more technical aerial tricks. We'll have an informal training session, then some question and answer, then we'll hit the water and see if you can put the new knowledge to use.

This will go on throughout the day on Friday. It will be great preparation for the competition so all riders are encouraged to attend. You may just get the opportunity to freeride along side of some of the best in the world. We are working on trying to again have some top "pro" freeriders here in Grayland for 2012 to pass on their experience and knowledge to the future up and coming Freeriders.

Competitors:

The Competition will consist of an estimated 20-30 Freeriders and 15-20 Racers. There will be a freeride competition, Big air competition and Motosurf Racing. During the freeride competition there will be two riders at a time in a flagged section for 5 minutes at a time. Time starts when the green flag goes up, yellow flag means 1 minute left, red flag means come back to shore immediately. Every run will be judged and scored for the competition.

The freeride tournament is an amateur contest. Those that are recognized "pro level" riders will not be allowed to compete in this portion of the event. Any riders, including those recognized as "pro" will be allowed to enter the "Big Air" Competition. There will be a Sit Down Class and a Stand Up class for the overall freeride competition.

There will be a Pro/Am class and an amateur class for Motosurf racing. Anyone can enter the "Big Air" Competition, including sit downs. Sit down watercraft will not compete at the same time as a stand ups.

The entry fee is $45 cash or check for each portion of the event that you plan to enter. The main booth will be set up on Friday this year. Please see Michelle Lindgren or Dan "Harbor Dan" Lindgren to get signed up anytime on Friday or on Sat. morning before the Rider's meeting. You do not have to be a member of any organization to enter this competition.

We will have a WestCoast Surf Riders registration table set up at the main booth near the scaffolding. Please be at the rider's meeting at 9 am. On Sat. morning in front of the main booth to get important information regarding the competition.

There will be a PA system in place to make announcements and play some music. This event will again attract some of the biggest names in the watercraft / surf riding sport. Many talented up and comers as well as beginners will be on hand to showcase there skills and take a shot at the coveted trophies and other prizes.

All freeriders that can ride safely in the surf are encouraged to enter the competition. The competition will start no later than 10 am. On Saturday the 18th. Be sure to get yourself a few raffle tickets. There will be raffles throughout both days of the Competition for some great products from our event ponsors.
