Location:
Just north of the "Grayland beach Rd." beach approach on the
beach and in the surf in Grayland WA. Near Westport.
This
is an awesome event that you don't want to miss. All are welcome
free of charge to come enjoy some serious aerial action at the beach.
Some of the top riders in the world will be in Grayland Washington
throwing down some amazing aerial manuevers. backflips, barrel
rolls, precision surf riding and motosurf racing are just some of
what you can expect to see all weekend.
There
will be food for you to feast on, music will be playing and if you
buy a few raffle tickets, you might just get some goodies to take
home with you. There will be a BBQ food vendor on site with hot food
etc. throughout the weekend. We will have custom
designed event t-shirts and sweatshirts as well as posters available
at the main booth while supplies last. Bring your family a lawn
chair and a camera and enjoy some free entertainment at the beach.
We
ask everyone to respect the beach. All rules governed by the State
Parks Dept. are still in effect during the event. Please pack it out
if you pack it in. Help us to minimize the impact on the Grayland
beach. Avoid soft beach areas with your vehicles as a tow can be
very costly. Please park clear of the ribboned off area and leave
room for cars to get through. Watch this website for changes and

Freeriders:
Bring
your ski even if you are not going to compete. There will be a
freeride clinic on Friday August 17th. This clinic is
free and will be similar to the Blowsion "Fistful of Foam" video.
You will have the opportunity to hear from some of the top riders.
Tips on how to do everything from boat prep and set up, to some of
the more technical aerial tricks. We'll have an informal training
session, then some question and answer, then we'll hit the water and
see if you can put the new knowledge to use.
This
will go on throughout the day on Friday. It will be great
preparation for the competition so all riders are encouraged to
attend. You may just get the opportunity to freeride along side of
some of the best in the world. We are working on trying to again
have some top "pro" freeriders here in Grayland for 2012 to pass
on their experience and knowledge to the future up and coming
Freeriders.
Competitors:
The
Competition will consist of an estimated 20-30 Freeriders and 15-20
Racers. There will be a freeride competition, Big air competition and
Motosurf Racing. During the freeride competition there will be two
riders at a time in a flagged section for 5 minutes at a time. Time
starts when the green flag
goes up, yellow flag means 1
minute left, red flag means
come back to shore immediately. Every run will be judged and scored
for the competition.
The
freeride tournament is an amateur contest. Those that are recognized
"pro level" riders will not be allowed to compete in this portion
of the event. Any riders, including those recognized as "pro"
will be allowed to enter the "Big Air" Competition. There will
be a Sit Down Class and a Stand Up class for the overall freeride
competition.
There
will be a Pro/Am class and an amateur class for Motosurf racing.
Anyone can enter the "Big Air" Competition, including sit downs.
Sit down watercraft will not compete at the same time as a stand ups.
The
entry fee is $45 cash or check for each portion of the event that you
plan to enter. The main booth will be set up on Friday this year.

signed up anytime on Friday or on Sat. morning before the Rider's
meeting. You do not have to be a member of any organization to enter
this competition.
We
will have a WestCoast
Surf Riders
registration table set up at the main booth near the scaffolding.
Please be at the rider's meeting at 9 am. On Sat. morning in front of
the main booth to get important information regarding the
competition.
There
will be a PA system in place to make announcements and play some
music. This event will again attract some of the biggest names in
the watercraft / surf riding sport. Many talented up and comers as
well as beginners will be on hand to showcase there skills and take a
shot at the coveted trophies and other prizes.
All
freeriders that can ride safely in the surf are encouraged to enter
the competition. The competition will start no later than 10 am. On
Saturday the 18th.
Be sure to get yourself a few raffle tickets. There will be raffles
throughout both days of the Competition for some great products from
our event ponsors.
Please

in. Help us to minimize the impact on the Grayland beach. We've
enjoyed a great working relationship with the Grayland Beach State
Park and we want that to continue.
